Upper School Team Leadership Transition

We wanted to share with newly admitted families that Upper School Director Ray Wilson will be departing Bush for a leadership opportunity at a new school starting summer 2021. We are grateful to Ray for his leadership of the Upper School over his eight years at Bush. Ray has made valuable contributions to the school’s academic program and school culture, including introducing the Upper School’s Cascades program, focusing attention on student mental health and positive relationships through partnerships with Challenge Success, Forefront, and One Love, and ushering in a new daily and year-round schedule that reduced student stress. He looks forward to welcoming all the newly admitted students and families to our community for decision week and throughout the spring as you prepare for your transition to The Bush School.

Head of School Percy Abram has retained executive placement firm Carney Sandoe and Associates, and a national search is underway for a permanent Upper School Director who will begin July 1, 2021. We are pleased to share that we have an outstanding pool of candidates who are poised to bring the experience, vision, and warmth necessary to lead the division in a manner consistent with our community’s values and school’s mission. Please join us in thanking Ray for his service and wishing him well in this next appointment.
